Proper Introductions

As we will be posting a lot of stories and photos including these animals below, we thought it would be wise to introduce them properly, by name. ;)

 Left: "Candy"
Right: "Mocha"

This little boy will come up a lot on the blog (and your facebook feed) as one of the farm's biggest menaces. :D We all, and the animals (I think) love him just the same. ;)

 Left: "Licorice"
Right: "Snowball"
<3

 This is the other little troublemaker with the newest addition to the milking does, "Daisy".

 You don't have a blog post about animals without mentioning Myles and his pet chicken. This friendly bird was affectionately dubbed "Miss Mae" by the child in the photo. ;)

 Then there are the regular layers who weren't special enough to have been given names
(Although I am certain the golden one in front is "Miss Frizzle" : ) )

monday morning ramblings

Somewhere along the lines I got behind.....maybe years ago? Well, these are some recent ramblings of me and my family. :) So therefore there will be no rhyme or reason to this post. A lot is changing in our lives such as kids growing up and moving on, such as myself, and a variety of family activities taking place that change the dynamics ever so slightly. ;) However, some things never change....and those are the things I like best. <3

#100%myles :D

Back in November, I had the privilege of joining staff part-time at the local newspaper office!

 Goodness! Our little girl is getting some hair! ;)

 It's that time of life again....preparing to get a license. :/

This is by far his favorite spot. Not a day goes by when we don't find these two together. <3

The epitome of American boyhood...:)

Rest In Peace Mrs. Linda

Just before midnight on December 19, 2015, Mrs. Linda went home to be with the Lord. She was a wonderful and sweet southern woman who loved the Lord and her family more than anything else in the world!

Please continue to pray for the Goldsmith family as they are going through this tough time. My cousin requested that we pray for God's peace upon the whole family as they are making arrangements for the funeral.
We will miss you, but...
(My cousin and her Grandma)
It will be a pleasure to meet you again someday!

Prayers for Mrs. Linda

Dear Readers-

My cousin's Grandmother is in the hospital this evening with a life-threatening case of Pneumonia. This arose just less than twenty-four hours after receiving the Pneumonia shot as well as other vaccinations. Also, she has endured congestive heart failure for the last several years, and this sickness is proving too much for her. Mrs. Linda was airlifted to the hospital and has been recently moved from ICU to DNR. Please pray for my cousin and the rest of her family members as they are going through this crisis situation. Please let the Goldsmith family know that you are praying for them by leaving a word of encouragement in the comment box below.

Remember:

"The LORD is near to all them that call on him, to all that call on him in truth."

(Psalms 145:18)

As the holidays are drawing closer, let us all draw even closer in prayer for this family. God sent his son to earth as a tiny baby to live, minister, and die for the good of mankind. I am challenging people all over the world to pray for Mrs. Linda as well as anyone in their lives that they know is struggling spiritually or physically. God says, "Ask and it shall be given unto you..." Let us ask for the ultimate Christmas miracle!

God bless you, Mrs. Goldsmith! We are praying for a miracle!!

Pass on the prayer!

About Me and Tea

        Southern manners are just as important as the amount of sugar one puts in a pitcher of sweet tea. Very important. Some of you know me and some of you don't. Those of you who do may find out something you never knew!
        My blog title is an issue that you all may be questioning....:) There IS a story behind it.
     Everyone puts different amounts of sugar in their sweet tea, and there are even some who put none at all but call it sweet tea just the same. To me, that is plain wrong. ;) Sweet tea is tea with enough sugar to make it taste sweet. We have varied our amounts from time to time and finally decided on cup and three quarters. It was a HUGE compromise! :) Many people have tasted our sweet tea and either commented on its good taste, bad taste, or said nothing at all. Their opinions have greatly contributed to the final result!
   Like my header description said, I am a fifteen year old girl on a small farm with 6 other siblings. Our small farm is no small task. With 6 female dairy goats, the billy, many chickens, a horse, and two cats, it is enough to keep us up and on our toes year round! We have 18 pecan trees on our plot of land and they produce many gallons of pecans every other year.
  My mother's name is Marcy and my father's, Marc. They are very encouraging parents and they use every opportunity as one for teaching us more about the word of God.
  My eldest sister's name is McKenzie and she, like my parents, teaches us many things and works extra hard to keep us all running in shape. Unfortunately though, we will soon lose her to her husband-to-be when they are wed on September 27, 2014!
  My older brother's name is Matthew. He is an ardent lover of major league baseball and wants to one day play alongside them. He is now attending Central Georgia Technical College to become an aviation mechanic.
  My younger siblings, Mariah(11), Malachi(7), Myles(4), and Macheus(1), are my younger, rambunctious but fun, siblings that also keep us on our feet! The younger boys have their troublesome moments, but overall, they are the sweetest boys anyone could ever ask for!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Now that you all know who we are, I hope that it 's much easier to read my posts with more of an understanding! To top it all off, here is the "proper" way to make sweet tea...the southern way. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One regular size pot of boiling water
A gallon size pitcher
2 Great Value tea bags
1 3/4 cup of sugar
(may add more for taste purposes)
Lemon for added zing
Directions:
Allow water in the pot to come to a complete boil. Drop in the tea bags and let sit until water is no longer see through, but a dark brown. (We very much advize you to mix your tea in a plastic pitcher and allow it to cool before serving in glass.) Dump sugar in the pitcher and pour your tea in. Set this mixture in the sink and turn on the faucet. Allow the pitcher to fill up while stirring. Refridgerate and serve with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy Summer to you all!
Blessings from the farm,
Maddy Grace~
